Tour Details

  • Day 01: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – km.82 – Wayllabamba:
    • We start picking you up at your hotel.
    • Transfer by private bus to the village of Ollantaytambo (duration 01 hours 30 minutes).
    • In this place, the porters and the cook join our group.
    • Continue the trip to KM. 82, the starting point of the trek to Machupicchu.
    • You start walking to the archaeological remains of Llactapata.
    • Here you will have the first lunch of the trek.
    • Continuing the journey you will go to the first camp of Wayllabamba (3,000 meters above sea level).
    • Dinner and rest surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains.
  • Day 02 : Wayllabamba – Pacaymayo – warmiyañuska – Phuyupatamarca.:
    • Very early in the morning, we have breakfast, to start the hike through the cloud forest.
    • We start the ascent up some steep stairs to the LLulluchapampa sector.
    • Upon arrival, we take a short break to recover energy.
    • Continuing the hike, we begin the ascent to the Abra de Warmiwañusca (4,200).
    • Arriving at the highest point, we will observe the most beautiful landscapes surrounded by Andean mountains.
    • We will visit the Sayacmarka ruins at 3,650 masl.
    • After a short rest, we begin to descend through a winding forest to have lunch.
    • Finally, we arrive at the second camp of Phuyupatamarka (3,600 meters above sea level).
    • Dinner and rest.
  • Day 03 : Phuyupatamarka – Chaquicocha -Wiñaywayna.:
    • A healthy breakfast to start the hike.
    • We start the visit at the archaeological site, from where you can see the mountain of Machupicchu, surrounded by large mountains.
    • We continue the hike down to the area of Intipata, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and the most beautiful is the Sacred Valley accompanied by the Vilcanota River.
    • Finally, we will arrive at the most beautiful area of the Inca Trail Wiñayhuayna, here we will have our last camp at 2,650 m.a.s.l., and we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
    • In the afternoon, after a short rest, we will visit our great archaeological center of Wiñayhuayna, and observe water channels, squares, and large terraces dedicated to the god Rainbow.
    • At dinner time we will have a small farewell party with the porters and cook, all together.
    • Rest, because the next day you will have to start the hike very early in the morning to the most beautiful place of the trek, Machupicchu. 
  • Day 04: Wiñayhuayna – Machupicchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco.:
    • Around 3:30 a.m. we woke up to get ready and start the last stretch to our big goal.
    • Our cook prepares us a box for breakfast, and after a while, we start the hike to reach the Puerta del Sol, duration of 01:30hrs.
    • On the way, we will be able to observe a variety of flora and fauna and a great variety of beautiful orchids.
    • Our last stop will be the Intipunku or Puerta del Sol at 2490 meters above sea level.
    • The first view of our destination is the wonder of the modern world of Machupicchu.
    • Our dream was achieved and the effort of the hike was rewarded, with such beautiful beauty.
    • After observing all the extensions of the Sanctuary of Machupicchu, we go to the most important places of the citadel, we will have a guided tour of the urban area, religious area, terraces, and temples.
    • After 02 hours of visit, we will go down by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes.
    • Lunch in a restaurant in the town of Aguas Calientes.
    • At the indicated time, you will go to the train station to return to the town of Ollantaytambo.
    • Transfer Ollantaytambo to Cusco, directly to your hotel in Cusco.

    • Please note that there are 500 places available daily for visitors, porters, and guides.
    • It is important to provide a copy of your identity document to proceed with the reservation.
    • The Inca Trail reservation is NON-transferable, NON-refundable.
    • The porters carry camping equipment and supplies for food preparation, but you must carry your belongings, considering only for 04 days of trekking, since the level of trekking is moderate to strenuous.
    • We recommend you be in good physical health since trekking demands an important effort, if you have any special medication you should consult in advance and mention it to the guide in order to take the necessary precautions.
    • We provide the appropriate equipment for camping, spacious tents, mattresses, pillows, and other implements necessary for the days of the tour.
    • We provide fresh and varied food, and delicious meals prepared by our cooks, with extensive experience in mountain treks.
    • We work with qualified personnel in tourism with a command of the English language.
    • Each person is granted assistance with their luggage of 7kg/15lbs, including their insulator and sleeping bag, for which they are provided with travel bags to be carried by the porters.

How do I prepare myself?

Travelers visiting the city of Cusco should take into consideration the issue of altitude. It is important to take time to acclimatize, the first day of arrival to the city, should eat light foods, and especially rest so that the “soroche or altitude sickness” will not disturb the plans of the visit. It is advisable, if health allows it, to drink a hot cup of a good infusion, we recommend a good mate de coca, to restore the discomfort in the body.

Cusco is a small city and the most important tours are at very close distances, it is always advisable to choose guaranteed options, there are many tour operators that are not authorized, before contracting a tour it is necessary that the visitor checks the most relevant information of the company in the government agencies that give the permission to provide tourist services in the city.

Should I use cash money or credit cards for my trips?

For security reasons it is recommended that you use a certain amount of cash for minor purchases or to acquire any souvenirs or details that the visitor may be interested in. In the city of Cusco the great majority of businesses, use payments with credit or debit cards the case, likewise, there are many agents, banks, and exchange houses, which you can access to remove money without any inconvenience.

How much luggage can I take?

Cusco is a city with a very varied climate, in the months of November to February, are known as the rainy season, the months of May until the end of July are the cold season, and the remaining months are warmer and with better weather. For this reason, it is recommended that visitors wear warm clothing on the tours they take, and always carry sunscreen, light clothing, comfortable shoes for walking, and what is necessary to enjoy the trip to the fullest.

Health recommendations

It is recommended that you take out travel insurance in your home country for any health eventuality or mishap during your time in our country.
