DAY 01 : Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Salkantaypampa.

  • Pick up at the hotel around 04:30 a.m. to start the trip to Marcoccasa.
  • You will pass by the town of Mollepata (3000 m.a.s.l.).
  • On arrival at Mollepata you will contact the muleteer and horse support staff.
  • In Marcoccasa the trek begins in a magnificent valley surrounded by impressive mountains with eternal snow, like the Humantay at 5217 meters above sea level, and the snowy Salkantay at 6264 meters above sea level.
  • Visit to the Humantay Lagoon (4,220) considered one of the most beautiful on the hike because of its blue-green waters that reflect the surrounding mountains.
  • Our first camp will be in Salkantay pampa (3900 masl).

Day 02: Salkantay Pampa – Challway

  • After breakfast, we will leave for the highest point of the road to the Salkantay snow-capped mountain (4650 m.a.s.l.) which offers an exceptional view with its valleys and the spectacular views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains.
  • After enjoying the wonderful view of the Salkantay snow-capped mountain, the descent begins and you will have time to enjoy the vegetation and the ecosystem, rest and lunch in Huayracmachay.
  • You will return to the town of Chaullay, changing the landscape, from mountains to vegetation where you will be able to observe fruit plantations, vegetation, forests, tropical climate.
  • Second camp will be in Challway, in the middle of the tropical forest.

Day 03: Challway – Wiñaypoco – La Playa -Hidroeléctrica

  • Breakfast, then start the walk in the middle of the flora and fauna.
  • We can enjoy the most beautiful landscapes, vegetation of low jungle, see spectacular waterfalls, coffee plantations and fruit trees.
  • We will descend to the zone called La Playa to get on a bus and go to the zone called La Hidroeléctrica, to then continue on our way to the town of Aguas Calientes. (Approximately time of duration of 02 hours).
  • Arriving at the town of Águas Calientes, we will be accommodated in the designated hotel.

Day 04: Trek to Machupicchu

  • Start the day walking through the mountain until you reach the citadel of Machupicchu, time about 01 hour.
  • Entrance to the citadel of Machupicchu.
    Guided visit for 02 hours.
  • Bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes.
    Train ticket back to Ollantaytambo.
  • Transfer from Ollantaytambo to Cusco, to the hotel designated by you.

How do I prepare myself?

How much luggage can I take?

Cusco is a city with a very varied climate, in the months of November to February is known as the rainy season, the months of May until the end of July is the cold season, the remaining months are warmer and with better weather. For this reason it is recommended that visitors wear warm clothing on the tours they take, and always carry sunscreen, light clothing, comfortable shoes for walking and what is necessary to enjoy the trip to the fullest.
